Americal Civic Center Lecture Series Continues Wednesday

John Wall spoke last week on "The Remarkable Cyrus Wakefield." On Wednesday, Barry Stentiford talks about the former Richardson Light Guard of Wakefield.

 

Last week, John Wall (third from left above) gave his lecture at the Americal Civic Center on "The Remarkable Cyrus Wakefield" as part of an ongoing series commemorating the building's 100th anniversary. The lecture series continues this Wednesday, March 20th at 7 p.m. when Barry M. Stentiford speaks on The Richardson Light Guard. Stentiford is author of "The Richardson Light Guard of Wakefield, Massachusetts: A Town Militia in War and Peace, 1851-1975."

Also, John Wall will return on April 24th at 7 p.m. to give the lecture "Our Artist... Franklin Poole," which will also talk about local artists Henry Cheever Pratt, Rufus Porter and Joseph Payro.

The lecture series is sponsored by the Wakefield Co-operative Bank. Lectures are held in the Heritage Room of the Civic Center and are free of charge.
