Five Things You Need To Know: March 6

Wakefield takes on North Andover tonight in MIAA Division 2 boys basketball semifinal. Tomorrow, fundraiser for WHS students doing Italy exchange program.

 

Today is Wednesday, March 6th. Here are five things you need to know.

MIAA Tournament: Wakefield High School boys basketball plays North Andover tonight at 7 p.m. in an MIAA North Division 2 semifinal game at Lawrence. The winner goes on to play Brighton in the final game Saturday night at the Tsongas Center.

Italy Exchange Trip Fundraiser: Tomorrow night, there’s a fundraiser at Giggles Comedy Club on Route 1 Saugus to help defray the costs of some Wakefield High School students preparing to spend two weeks in Rome next month as part of an exchange program. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the $20 admission includes all you can eat pizza and a comedy show.

Graphic Novel Art: This Sunday, March 10th at 2 p.m. at the Beebe Library, artists Andy and Veronica Fish will lead a graphic novel workshop entitled “How to Draw Graphic Novel Style.” The workshop runs 75 minutes and is geared toward ages 14 and up.

There’s a bowl-a-thon coming up in May to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Stoneham and Wakefield. There’s plenty of time to get involved with the event, which takes place at the Wakefield Bowladrome on Sunday, May 19th. Click here for full information.
