Five Things You Need To Know: March 5

A look at what's coming up in and around Wakefield.

 

Today is Tuesday, March 5th. Here are five things you need to know. 

MIAA Tournament: The Wakefield High School boys basketball team takes on North Andover tomorrow night at 7 p.m. in Lawrence in an MIAA North Division 2 semifinal game. The winner is going to the final at the Tsongas Center in Lowell against either Melrose or Brighton. 

Town Business: The Wakefield School Committee has a special meeting Thursday at 7 p.m. at the WCAT studio that is expected to include a vote to offer the superintendent position to one of the district’s current finalists.

Food Pantry Benefit Concert: On Saturday, March 16th at 8 p.m., they’re having a concert to raise funds for the Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry. Musicians Kim and Reggie Harris are performing, as is singer and folk guitarist Rabbi Jonathan Kligler. Click here for more information.

Bird Watching: If you’re a bird watching enthusiast, Mass. Audubon has announced that its annual Birders Meeting is this Saturday, March 16th at Bentley University in Waltham. Click here for more information.
