MIAA tournament hockey and basketball games, plus the Traveling Librarian talks Malaysia.
Today is February 26th, 2013. Here are five things you need to know.
MIAA Tournament: The Wakefield High School hockey and boys basketball teams both have playoff games tonight. The hockey team takes on Andover in a first round game at 7:30 p.m. at Stoneham. Wakefield is a #7 seed, Andover is a #10. The winner plays Winchester on March 3rd.
The boys basketball team plays Malden Catholic at home at 7 p.m. in a first round game. Wakefield is a #3 seed, MC is a #14. The winner goes on to play either Beverly or Lynn Classical.
Town Business: The planning board meets tonight at 7 p.m. in the 1st floor meeting room at town hall.
The Traveling Librarian: Bill Gette, aka The Traveling Librarian, talks tonight at 7 p.m. at the Beebe Library about Malaysia. And tomorrow night (Wednesday) at 7 p.m., he gives another talk about his visit to Kenya.
Job Shadowing Day: Wakefield Memorial High School is looking for working professionals to partner with students in the Junior Class during its 7th Annual Job Shadow Day on Thursday, March 21st, 2013. The day is designed to give students an opportunity to “shadow” a professional for a portion of the day to see what their job entails. Last over 100 WMHS students had the unique opportunity to participate in this event.
