Five Things To Know Today: Cyrus Wakefield Lecture Tomorrow

Today is Tuesday, March 12th. Here are five things worth knowing today.

Cyrus Wakefield Lecture: Coming up on Tuesday, March 19th – John Wall will give a second edition of his lecture “The Remarkable Cyrus Wakefield” at 3 p.m. in the Heritage Room at the Americal Civic Center on Main Street. This is part of a series to mark the 100th anniversary of the Americal Civic Center.

Historic New England: Also on Tuesday, March 19th at the Beebe Library – Sally Zimmerman of Historic New England will give a talk on color tips for painting your historic home. Click here for more information and to reserve a seat.

Concussion Education: The SLICE concussion education program is on Wednesday, March 20th at 7 p.m. in the Lynnfield Middle School Auditorium. The interactive program is geared toward students in grades 4-12, plus their parents and coaches, and is run by Boston University medical students. Click here for more information.

Celebrate the Green: The Wakefield Event Planning Committee’s “Celebrate the Green” event is Saturday, March 16th at Greenwood Plaza, 979 Main Street. Click here to learn more about it.

There’s a bowl-a-thon coming up in May to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Stoneham and Wakefield. There’s plenty of time to get involved with the event, which takes place at the Wakefield Bowladrome on Sunday, May 19th. Click here for full information.
