Fire Rekindled at Destroyed Lake Street Home
Wakefield Fire Department will stay on premises.
Wakefield Fire Department returned to Lake Street Sunday night after the three alarm fire that destroyed the home earlier in the morning rekindled.
At 8:45 p.m., fire officials reported hot spots in the multi-unit residence.
Scanner reports indicated the department was requesting that a detail of one officer and two firefighters remain on the premises for the rest of the night.
The three-alarm fire was first reported this morning at 7:20 a.m., when first floor residents reported hearing a 'crackling noise' and smelling smoke.
Upon arrival, Wakefield firefighters quickly struck a second and third alarm, which brought apparatus from other communities to the scene and to cover the stations.
No injuries were reported.

What are the needs for these displaced families so close to the Holidays? Please keep us informed as to what we can do - fundraisers, assistance funds, hot meals, clothing sizes, interim housing, toys for the kids, whatever they need....they need to know people care and want to help. Strangers are just friends we haven't met yet.

I know that there's a little boy who lived there with his parents and they also lost everything. Could use clothes, size 24 mo to 2T, and toys. I'm not sure how to reach you but I wanted to let you know that. You can email me at nygrl4evr@yahoo.com and I'll be happy to email you back with information on where you can take any donations you may have.

Lynne MacAuley commented on Fire Rekindled at Destroyed Lake Street Home, which you are following.
"The owner of the home is a single father of two boys who r in college. They lost everything."
I tried to respond to this comment I received in my email updates but the site states that it does not exist and as you can see, it doesn't. Is there a glitch in the system that did not post this Comment?
I am still trying to find out if we can do something and what we can do to make the Holidays brighter for these people who were affected by this fire. Thanks.
