Car Break-In, Attempted Scam Reported Over Weekend

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service between Friday, March 8th and Sunday, March 10th, 2013.
At 8:17 a.m. on Friday, March 8, an accident with no injury was reported near North Ave. and Quannapowitt Parkway.
At 10:19 a.m. police took a report of a hit and run accident in a parking lot on Water Street. Soon after, they issued a summons to a 64 year old Wakefield man for operating with a revoked or suspended registration.
At 10:51 a.m. police were informed that a private investigator was calling a business on Water Street demanding information about another company in the building.
At 11:47 a.m. a minor accident was reported on Richardson Street.
At 12:49 p.m. police were informed of an accident on Main Street where a woman slid off the road and struck a guard rail after avoiding another car early that morning.
At 1:47 p.m. a caller on Bartley Street reported that somebody in a car was pulling two people on snowboards around the neighborhood. They were gone on arrival.
At 1:55 p.m. an oil truck was reported operating erratically near Elm Street and Parker Road. It was not spotted.
At 5:10 p.m. an officer sent some people on their way who had been snowmobiling on an access road near Audubon Road.
At 11:04 p.m. caller reported a group near Tuttle Street possibly about to have a fight. They were sent on their way.
On Saturday, March 9th at 7:51 a.m. a vehicle was reported off the road on Montrose Ave.
At 8:27 a.m., a vehicle reported ran off the road on Elm Street and ended up on a resident’s lawn.
At 9:04 a.m. a caller reported a theft from Audubon Road.
At 11:28 a.m. a woman reported a possible scam. The suspect reportedly spoke with a Caribbean accident and claimed to be with Publisher’s Clearing House.
At 11:45 a.m. a minor accident was reported on the rotary.
At 5:02 p.m. a woman reported that a brown Jeep Cherokee kept on driving past her as she walked at the lake. The vehicle was not located.
At 8:25 p.m. police were called about a Jeep spinning its tires in the McDonald’s drive-thru on Main Street.
At 9:56 p.m. a caller on Harrington Court reported a large group of youths were causing a disturbance. An officer found them to be playing a game of hacky sack but sent them along.
At 10:07 p.m. an SUV reportedly drove over the guardrail while exiting 128 at North Ave.
At 10:43 p.m. police took a report of a domestic incident on Sherman Road and arrested Susan J. Antonucci, 43, 15 Sherman Road, Wakefield, and charged her with assault and batter with a dangerous weapon – domestic.
At 11:08 p.m. a man reported his friend had fallen down some stairs and hit his head.
On Sunday, March 10 at 1:38 a.m. a woman on Main Street reported that her upstairs neighbor had been making strange noises since 1 a.m. and that banging noises were also coming from that apartment. The neighbor denied making any of the alleged noises.
At 1:46 a.m. a vehicle was reported on Murray Street playing loud music.
At 10:24 a.m. police were informed of youths throwing snowballs at cars on Hopkins Street. They were gone on arrival.
At 10:55 a.m. a woman reported that her vehicle had been broken into during the night on Audubon Road. A GPS, sunglasses, loose change and the car’s owner’s manual were reported stolen.
At 12:52 p.m. police took a report involving harassment.
At 4:32 p.m. a vandalism report came in from Blueberry Lane.
At 4:55 p.m. an officer sent a group of youths on their way for causing a disturbance in front of the library and post office.
At 11:49 p.m. a woman on Pleasant Street reported seeing a shadow in the backyard. Police found no intruders.
