Black Tuesday: Woman Brings Child Shoplifting

Information provided by the Wakefield Police. Where arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012.
At 9:07 a.m., a man called to report that his ex-wife had taken his dog. He indicated he would come to fill out a report at the station but never showed up.
At 1:44 p.m., an employee of a North Ave. business reported that a vehicle had just struck the building. An officer spoke with the operator and the employee and driver exchanged information.
At 4:18 p.m., a Main Street business reported that a heavyset white female with dark hair had just stolen a ski parka and fled on foot. The woman was reportedly accompanied by a child in a white and blue coat who was about four or five years old. Police checked the area and were unable to locate her.
At 5:08 p.m., a caller reported that a now-extinguished car fire had occurred near Main Street and Franklin Street. The fire department cleared the scene without further incident.
At 5:49 p.m., a minor crash was reported on Water Street.
At 8:08 p.m., police were informed of an erratic driver near Salem Street and Houston Street. The driver checked out OK.
At 9:37 p.m., police issued a summons to a 47 year old Wilmington woman for a lights violation, operating an uninsured  motor vehicle, and operating/allowing a vehicle with a suspended or revoked registration.
At 11:19 p.m., a caller reported that a man who did not appear to be part of any construction crew was using power tools on the corner of Main Street and Franklin Street. The area was clear when police arrived.
