Out of 1618 votes in our poll, Vanity Hair Salon netted 949, or 58 percent of the votes. They also received 11 comments, the most out of any of the nominees, and four positive reviews.
Vanity Hair Salon is a beauty care business that offers a full range of services for men and women. These include styling, trimming, coloring and more. The salon accepts appointments as well as walk-ins.
"What we really think that sets us apart is that we have a lot of fun," said owner Catie McDaniels. "We’re all friends and we pride ourselves on our fun, friendly atmposhere. We’re not afraid to ask others to collaborate and try to be creative togethers as a team. We're a small town salon that’s what we want it to feel like."
"It's hard for me as a guy to find a place where I feel welcome and where they consistently do a great job, " wrote Kurt Heiden in a review on Vanity's Patch business listing. "Vanity is that place for me. Not only do they take walk-ins (which I do more than I should), but each stylist who has cut my hair there seemed to know what would look best for me, and I always feel like I'm welcome there. I've been to five different salons in Wakefield and I don't need to go to anymore because Vanity is just plain terrific."
Other salons who received several hundred votes were Salon Monet which netted 12 percent of the vote, and Mirrored Image Hair Salon, which received 342, or 21 percent of the vote.
"The staff at Mirrored Image stays up to date on hair trends and products," commented reader Karen DeGaeta. "The owner, Liz, has personality, and I love Amanda's hair cuts. The new decor make you feel as if you are on Newbury Street in Boston."
Thanks to all the readers who weighed in with their votes, comments, and reviews.
