A Book Theft, Three Arrests, And People On The Ice

Information provided by the Wakefield Police. Where arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service between Friday, January 4th and Sunday, January 6th.

On Friday, January 4th at 9:50 a.m., a caller reported a minor hit and run accident on Albion Street. The driver of the other vehicle soon returned to the scene.
At 1:50 p.m., a librarian informed police that a theft suspect from a past incident was back in the library. Police soon issued a summons to a 57 year old Wakefield man for larceny under $250.
At 1:58 p.m., police arrested John B. Wood, 56, address unknown, on North Ave. for trespassing, possession of a class B drug (Methadone) and possession of a class E drug (Ritalin).
At 2:21 p.m., police took a call from Water Street involving a suspect who was incapacitated and unwanted at the location. An ambulance took the individual to a local hospital.
At 2:53 p.m., police were informed of two people out on the ice near North Ave. They were gone on arrival.
At 3:58 p.m., police arrested Gregory Deron Hampton-Boyd, 20, 2 Avon Court, Wakefield, on a warrant.
At 6:28 p.m., an officer sent two people on their way after a reported disturbance on Bartley Street.
At 8:31 p.m., police went to Bennett Street for a reported neighbor dispute.
At 9:12 p.m., some youths were reported throwing snowballs at cars. They were gone on arrival.

On Saturday, January 5th at 10:07 a.m., a woman on Richardson Ave. reported she had been assaulted by another tenant.
At 3:46 p.m., police took a report of people out on the ice. They were gone on arrival.
At 5:10 p.m. a citizen turned in an ATM card found in Lynnfield.
At 7:29 p.m. police issued a summons to a 54 year old Wakefield woman for operating with a suspended/revoked license.

On Sunday, January 6th at 2:05 a.m. police issued a summons to a 27 year old Somerville resident for possession of a class D drug.
At 4:15 a.m., police arrested Stephen Rao, 21, 47 Everett Street, Woburn for OUI Liquor and a red light/stop sign violation. They also placed a 19 year old Woburn resident into protective custody.
At 7:08 a.m., a vehicle off the road was reported on Old Nahant Road. No injuries were reported.
At 10:43 a.m. Wakefield Police assisted with a rollover accident over the Saugus line.
At 2:47 p.m., a Richardson Avenue resident reported that a woman was yelling in a nearby apartment. The woman reported that she has a hearing problem and tends to speak loudly, but promised to keep it down for the rest of the day.
At 4:49 p.m., police were informed of three people out on the ice near Lowell Street. The individuals were sent on their way.
At 7:44 p.m. a vehicle was reported off the road on Church Street. The fire department and Action Ambulance were also notified.
At 7:51 p.m. police took a report of a past break-in on Greenwood Street.
