Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service on Tuesday, February 26th, 2013.
At 10:04 a.m. a caller reported what turned out to be a dead possum in the road on Elm Street. Animal Control responded.
At 1:21 p.m. a hypodermic needle was discovered and disposed of on Broadway.
At 2:23 p.m. a caller reported a man shoveling snow into the street on Church Street. Police determined no shovel had been shoveled into the street.
At 3:09 p.m. an accident was reported on Salem Street in front of the Irving Station.
At 3:53 p.m. a caller reported some youths were on the steps out in front of the library on their bicycles. They were gone on arrival.
At 4:01 p.m. a Chestnut Street resident reported finding a bicycle on his front lawn.
At 5:16 p.m. a woman reported that her car had been broken into the previous night on Columbia Road. Further investigation found that there was no break-in, but that the woman had instead left the door slightly open by error. Nothing was stolen.
At 8:44 p.m. a caller reported that somebody was possibly driving on the field behind the high school. It turned out that a pizza delivery driver was delivering pizzas to the Wakefield High School field house, but then got stuck in a snow bank. A towing service removed the vehicle.
At 9:39 p.m. a Humphrey Street resident reported somebody shining lights into the home. Nobody was spotted.
At 10:23 p.m. the fire department responded to a report of a small fire under the MBTA 128 overpass.
At 10:47 p.m. a man called to report that he had bitten his tongue and it was bleeding. Medical personnel responded.
At 11:35 p.m. police took a report of harassment. They issued a summons to a 19 year old Peabody woman for violating a harassment prevention order.
At 1:07 a.m. on Wednesday, February 27th, an Avon Street resident reported that a man he did not know had rung the doorbell claiming that he owed him money.
