5 Things: Temps Above 50, Donations Needed, Kids Activities, and More

Five things worth knowing today, February 22, 2012, in Wakefield, MA.

 

1. Even warmer weather! -  According to the National Weather Service, today will be mostly sunny, with a high near 55 degrees.

2. Today in Wakefield Sports -  There are no Wakefield High School Sports matchups scheduled for today.

3. Activities for kids - Today in Wakefield, Jason the magician swings by the Dockside Restaurant from 5-8 p.m. for a kids magic show, and the Beebe Library hosts a free, drop-in video gaming day for kids in grades 1-4 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.  No registration required.

4. Donations needed - As part of a community service project, the students in WHS's Alternative Program are organizing a clothing and toy drive for  "Cradles to Crayons," a non-profit organization that benefits families in the Boston area through the end of the month. 5. More donations needed -  The Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield (CSF) is sponsoring a food drive for the Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry (WIFP) through Saturday, February 25th. During that period, please support the WIFP by dropping off non-perishable food donations to the CSF office, at the Americal Civic Center, 467 Main Street, 1st Floor, Wakefield. All participants and spectators who attend the 20th Annual CSF Trivia Team Challenge on Saturday, February 25th, 7-10 p.m. at the Americal Civic Center are also encouraged to bring along donations.
