5 Things: Comedy Show at Dockside

Five things worth knowing today, February 24 ,2012, in Wakefield, MA.

 

1. Bring your umbrella  - According to the National Weather Service, showers are likely for most of the day today. High temperatures will be near 42 degrees.

2. Today in Wakefield Sports -  Boys varsity wrestling competes at All-States at Salem High School at 10 a.m., and boys varsity basketball scrimmages King Philip at 6 p.m. at home. 

3. Laugh it off - If you're in the mood for some laughter tonight, get your giggle on at the Dockside Restaurant's North Shore Comedy Club Showcase. The show costs $8 and you'll get to see seven different local comedians do their thing on the mike. The show starts at 8:30 p.m. See here for more information. 

4. Give Blood - The American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 100 Quannapowitt Parkway. All donors get a coupon for a free tax preparation at participating Liberty Tax Service offices in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, redeemable between March 1 and March 31, 2012. 

5. What's up for this weekend - In addition to tonight's comedy show, there are a number of other great events happening right here in Wakefield this weekend. On Friday night, check out a free worship and praise concert, "Vessels of Praise Convert" at the First Parish Congregational Church at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, there's a Diaper Derby at the Burlington Mall in the morning, and at night, there's the CSF - 20th Annual Trivia Night at 6:30 p.m.
