- Deceased's name: Thomas Jackson “Jack” Potts, III
Mr. Thomas Jackson “Jack” Potts, III, a resident of Wakefield, passed away with his loving wife by his side at Boston Medical Center on Saturday, November 17, 2012.
He was born in Flushing, New York on June 13, 1947. He was raised in Rowley and graduated from Newburyport High School. Jack worked for Valle’s Steakhouse Restaurants throughout New England for several years before graduating from Bentley College. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, and worked for 30 years at the Internal Revenue Service, most recently as an Information Security Specialist.
On October 8, 1988, he married Christine West and they shared a wonderfully unique relationship with many adventures. Jack filled his life with simple pleasures that he never took for granted. He enjoyed plays, doing the grocery shopping with lots of coupons, reading a good book, and being with his many nieces, nephews, and godsons. He was a master jig-saw puzzler, and especially enjoyed doing 3-D puzzles. He also worked with wood and was particularly computer savvy. Jack loved animals and together, he and Christine adopted many older dogs and one adored cat, Jilly. He was a particularly kind man and in his usual big-hearted way, one day he carried Rerun, at the time a very sick dog, up and down the street as he could not walk himself. Jack was an extraordinarily caring person who lived as he chose to live, and was deeply spiritual. He loved wearing Hawaiian shirts nearly every day, collecting stamps, travelling, and making everyone around him smile. What made him the most happy was simply being at home where he could relax and be himself.
Jack was the beloved husband of Christine M. West of Wakefield. Father of Shayna Perechodiuk of Lynn and godfather of Daniel and Max Iascone of Georgetown. Son of Barbara (MacMillan) Potts of Rowley and the late Thomas Jackson Potts, Jr. Nephew of Edward MacMillan and his wife Barbara of NJ. Brother of Edward Potts and his wife Yvonne of VA, Jane Harris of Rowley, Amy Walker and her husband Bob of OR, James Potts and his wife Kimberly of Amesbury, and brother-in-law of Edward West of UT, Robert West and his wife Ann of VT, and Anthony Marchetti and his wife Sue of MD.
