Animal Lovers Donate Two Carloads of Food and Supplies for Pets in Need

Best Friends Animal Angel Tree Campaign Continues through Jan. 6

Area animal lovers really showed their concern for homeless dogs and cats this holiday season  by donating food and supplies to Best Friends Pet Care’s Animal Angel Tree campaign.  Best Friends will be delivering two car-loads of donated items to the Northeast Animal Shelter in Salem Jan.7.

“We are so happy with the response to our campaign to help our local shelter,” said Agni Sarmaniote of Best Friends Pet Care.  “As a non-profit shelter, they really depend upon private donations to provide supplies for the many pets in their care.”

There is still time to participate. Donations to the Animal Angel Tree program can be made until Sunday, Jan. 6 by visiting Best Friends at 15 Main Street in Wakefield or by calling 781-245-1237.

Best Friends Pet Care offers boarding, grooming and doggy day camp in Wakefield and at 40 other locations across the U.S.  The Animal Angel Tree campaign is one way the company gives back to the community.  This year, more than 60 shelters and rescues will benefit from the campaign.  For information, visit www.bestfriendspetcare.com.

The Northeast Animal Shelter is one of New England’s largest no-kill animal shelters. The non-profit organization is privately run and depends upon donations to rescue and re-home the animals in its care. For information, visit www.northeastanimalshelter.org.
